April 2 — Collage
Write a poem that works in much the same way a visual collage works: juxtaposing un-likely images and facts… Your poem may or may not find a common thread among its disparate parts.

I enjoyed 28 Plays Later so much, I want to keep playing in the short play world for a while. So… I picked up The Daily Poet: Day-By-Day Prompts for Your Writing. It’s intended for poetry, but I figure it will work just as well to inspire other kinds of writing, right?
March 19 — Gamble Your Life Away
On this day in 1931, Nevada legalized gambling. Write a poem that explores gambling. Allow that topic to extend into relationships—what have you gambled away or what (or whom) have you bet on and lost? Feel free to mention slot machines, roulette, poker, or any words that relate to gambling. Alternatively, write about something you’ve won or lost, or a poem on the theme of “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” Maybe you took a risk in your life and something good (or bad) happened. Let the glitter and lights of Las Vegas decorate your poem as needed.
